Hello everyone, I joined coming up 9 years ago and have been rather absent because adult obligations, Yaaaay!. So here it does... my advice.

Learn who someone is before you get into a commitment. I am currently filing at-fault adultry against my wife whom I have 2 kids with.

Make a prenup cause some of these people will sell your stuff under your nose like my wife.

Get a lawyer.

so yeah. other than that hope you all have a great day lol

There is no such thing as change
People will always remain the same

As my dad used to say, "Take my advice. I'm not using it."

Real men pray. Real men cry. Real men love Jesus.

When my husband and I got married, he didn't want to get a pre-nup (despite him being the at-risk party and me offering one!). I definitely agree with you in that it's important to protect yourself from unnecessary risks. But we live and learn!

So when you're happy (Hurray!), or sad (Aw!),
Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!)
An interjection starts a sentence right.

Well, I think your first point is glaringly obvious, even if so many people foolishly act irresponsibly. I never cease to be amazed when you see in the news about some crazy crime between dating or married partners, and the article will say, "they met on an online dating or chat room site three months ago" or something crazy like that. Before everybody jumps in with "well, I knew my partner for three weeks before we got married and we've been married 10 years", etc. of course some relationships work despite the parties having had very little time to get to know each other before the marriage, but the realistic odds are against it. Then again you can't rule out the fact that people change. The person you knew for 10 years before the marriage may not be the same person who later violates your trust.

As for the prenup, it really doesn't have a lot to do with your partner selling your stuff under your nose. Prenups are really pretty useless to most people, especially young people starting out. They are only really effective where there is a large difference in the assets of the marriage partners. For example she is the heir to the Gates family fortune and he's an unemployed, minimum wage worker. Extreme, I know; but I think you get my point.
